Private Events at Summit Stables
Blue Bee Cider calls Summit Stables home. Originally built as mule stables and carriage housing for the City of Richmond’s Public Works Department, the four buildings of Summit Stables have been adapted and rehabilitated into an urban cidery, tap room and cider garden. Summit Stables’ primary purpose is to grow fruit, make cider and distribute cider. However, retail customer-facing areas may be reserved for private events and special occasions. The cider salon is a temperature controlled space with the old-world charm of our bare granite block walls. This room can accommodate up to 50 people with the rollup doors closed; rollup doors can be opened upon request depending on weather. It is perfect for small- to medium-scale events such as networking events, showers, dinner parties, rehearsal dinners, or wedding receptions. Depending on where your event falls on the calendar, the all-inclusive cost of reserving the cider salon ranges from $250 to $5000.
The cider garden and patio are an outdoor space with shade umbrellas in the late spring to early fall. The garden and patio are the focal point of our courtyard surrounded by our warm, quaint granite buildings. The cider garden and patio can accommodate up to 50 people. It is perfect for small- to medium-scale events such as networking events, showers, dinner parties, rehearsal dinners, or wedding receptions. Depending on where your event falls on the calendar, the all-inclusive cost of reserving the cider garden and patio ranges from $1000 to $5000. This space can be tented late fall to mid-spring.
The hayloft is a private room that looks over our beautiful property that can accommodate up to 40 people. It is not ADA accessible. Like the other buildings on our campus, this room has granite block walls plus a vintage sliding door. This room can be a location for networking events, showers, dinner parties, small private dinners, or wedding receptions. Depending on where your event falls on the calendar, the all-inclusive cost of reserving the hayloft ranges from $250 to $2500.
Pricing varies to account for our average tasting room sales during that time block. Peak seasons of year, peak days of the week and peak hours of the day are more expensive.
You can buy out the courtyard, cider salon and patio area for completely private, large-scale events. The property lends itself to a variety of layouts and vignettes which our event coordinator can discuss with you. The French country style of our buildings and garden provides an old-world feel that requires minimal décor to make your event memorable. We offer this package if your event exceeds the maximum occupancy of the other rooms, or if you want your event to be completely private with the ability to utilize the entire space without interruption. Our maximum capacity for the entire venue is 150 people.
Due to possible damage to the property, a 10% deposit fee of the total cost will be added to your invoice. The deposit will be returned in full if no damage occurs during the event.
Standard Rental Package
Unless otherwise specified/requested, reservation quotes include:
* 18% Gratuity
* Standard block of four hours, including set up and breakdown time
* Dedicated tasting room associate to directly cater to your event
* Event coordinator
* Reservation fee
A fee will be charged for every hour the event goes over or under the original scheduled time.
Standard Time Blocks
– Four-hour blocks: 12-4 p.m., 6-10 p.m.
– Full day: flexible, up to 9 hours
