You can expect to hear from different members of Blue Bee Cider’s team as we wind our way through the seasons of growing apples, making juice, cider and brandy, and having fun all along the way.
In 2012, we built out our urban cidery in the Old Manchester neighborhood of downtown Richmond, planted an urban orchard and trained our first team members. We have enjoyed being part of the rapid renewal of our current neighborhood and being part of the rapidly rising craft beverage industry in our city. Things have changed dramatically in a short time for us as well.
Since we first opened, the response from the Richmond area and the wider Virginia craft cider community exceeded my expectations. We have met thousands of new friends in the tasting room and at in-store demos around Virginia and the District of Columbia. It is my hope that this blog will be an extension of the chats that we have with each of you about making premium ciders from local fruit using traditional and modern techniques. That is our passion and we hope that it inspires joy!
